Coco Martin, Julia Montes, Nora Aunor Star in Padre de Familia Movie 2014

Superstar Nora Aunor will be working together with Coco Martin and Julia Montes in the upcoming film Padre de Familia (Padre de Pamilya). The movie, which is being shot on location in Malaysia, is directed by Adolf Alix Jr.

In Padre de Familia, Nora Aunor will be playing the troubled matriarch Aida while Coco Martin will be his son Noel who only wants the best for their family. Julia Montes is Pia who will have a big role in Noel's life. 

Padre de Pamilya will be the first time that Nora Aunor will be working with both Coco and Julia while the latter tandem has already topbilled their movie A Moment In Time last year.

Aside from Coco, Julia and Nora, the movie, features a dream cast of powerhouse actors including Rosanna Roces, Baron Geisler, Joel Torre, Joem Bascon, Miles Ocampo, Manuel Chua, Paolo Diangson and Ms. Anita Linda.

Ngayong 2014," Direk Adolf shared in his Facebook page giving a background of the movie.

Based on the screenplay of Ralston Jover, Nikki Bunquin & Jerry Gracio, Padre de Familia is one gigantic movie you shouldn't miss this 2014.

Bea Alonzo and Paulo Avelino Topbill Sana Bukas Pa Ang Kahapon Teleserye

Movie queen Bea Alonzo and Paulo Avelino will be paired for the first time in the upcoming ABS-CBN teleserye Sana Bukas Pa Ang Kahapon. This is Bea's comeback project on television after A Beautiful Affair ended early last year.

The project was unveiled in a press conference held earlier. This new ABS-CBN teleserye, which is a collaboration of Rondel Lindayag with director Trina Dayrit, is set to feature Bea Alonzo portraying three different characters.

Bea and Paulo will be joined by an ensemble of actors from different generations which include Albert Martinez, Ronaldo Valdez, Dina Bonnevie, Tonton Gutierrez, Iza Calzado, Michelle Vito and two of of the most respected veteran actors in the country, Ms. Anita Linda and Ms. Susan Roces.

This will be the first time that Bea will be working with the cast, except for Ms. Anita Linda and Ronaldo Valdez who already worked with the actress in the movie The Mistress. 

Meanwhile, Sana Bukas Pa Ang Kahapon will be a reunion of sorts to Ms. Susan Roces and Paulo Avelino, who previously worked together in Walang Hanggan, and to Tonton Gutierrez and Dina Bonnevie who were part of Bukas Na Lang Kita Mamahalin.

Produced by Dreamscape Entertainment, Sana Bukas Pa Ang Kahapon is slated to premiere this 2014.

ASEAN International Film Festival (AIFFA) 2013 Winners: Bugoy Cariño, Alessandra De Rossi Bag Top Acting Plums

The first ASEAN International Film Festival and Awards (AIFFA) was held in Kuching, Sarawak, Malaysia from March 28-30. The awards night happened at the Borneo Convention Centre Kuching where the Philippines emerged as big winner, clinching four awards out of seven nominations.

Alessandra De Rossi was hailed as Best Actress for her performance in the film Sta. Niña which eventually won as Best Picture in the drama category. Anita Linda's performance in the said film also earned her the Best Supporting Actress award. Coco Martin and the film's director Manny Palo were nominated for Best Actor and Best Director, respectively.

Meanwhile, Bugoy Cariño won Best Supporting Actor for the film Alagwa where Jericho Rosales is nominated for Best Actor. The other Pinoy film nominated was Mga Kidnapper Ni Ronnie Lazaro which lost to Malaysia's Istanbul Aku Datang for Best Picture (Comedy).

'The Mistress' Grosses P300 Million at the Worldwide Box Office

Star Cinema's The Mistress starring John Lloyd Cruz and Bea Alonzo is poised not only to be the biggest movie of the year but also as the highest grossing Pinoy film of all time with its huge success not only in the Pilippines but also overseas.

ABS-CBN executives, led by chairman Gabby Lopez, president Charo Santos-Concio, and Star Cinema managing director Malou Santos, personally congratulated Bea Alonzo and John Lloyd Cruz for the huge box-office success of their first daring film, “The Mistress,” which is now on its fourth week in cinemas nationwide. 

In the recently held victory party, Star Cinema proudly announced that the film directed by Olivia Lamasan already grossed P300 million worldwide. International screenings of the film in selected venues are also extended.

Aside from Bea, John Lloyd and Direk Olivia, other cast members of the “Mistress” graced the party including Ronaldo Valdez, K Brosas, Carmi Martin, Minnie Aguilar, Tony Mabesa, and Ms. Anita Linda. 

“The Mistress” is still showing in cinemas nationwide.

Bea and John Lloyd's 'The Mistress' Official Poster Unveiled

Star Cinema released the official poster for The Mistress, their latest mature film which marks Bea Alonzo and John Lloyd Cruz's 10th anniversary as a love team. One big and beautiful celebration, The Mistress will tackle a complicated love story of four people set to hit theaters September 12, 2012.

Since their first team-up in the critically acclaimed and top-rating ABS-CBN teleserye in 2002, Kay Tagal Kang Hinintay, John Lloyd and Bea have won the hearts of the Filipino viewers proven by a string of remarkable TV and film projects over the past decade.


In The Mistress, both Bea and John Lloyd matured as an actor, with Bea's role considered as her bravest to date. John Lloyd Cruz plays JD Torres, a guy who fell in love with a mysterious woman named Sari Alfonso (played by Bea Alonzo). 

Sari, on the other hand is committed to her benefactor, a married man named Rico (Ronaldo Valdez). The said successful businessman's legal wife is Regina, played by multi-awarded actress Hilda Koronel.


Under the direction of Olivia Lamasan, The Mistress also stars Ms. Anita Linda, Carmi Martin, Tony Mabesa, K Brosas, Gabe Mercado, Minnie Aguilar, Nor Domingo and Clarence Delgado.

MMK June 23 Episode Shares the Story of a 78-Year-Old Lola Auring Who Braves the Streets of Manila to Find Her Husband

Maalaala Mo Kaya shares this Saturday (June 23) the inspiring love story of a 78-year-old woman named Lola Auring Matias (played by Anita Linda), who braved the streets of Manila alone each day in search for her missing husband, Lolo Luis (played by Tony Mabesa).

For two weeks, she went around the city with two “missing person” posters of Luis pinned on her dress. Every day, Lola Auring was full of hope that she and her husband will meet again. Luckily, a good Samaritan was touched with the old lady’s dedication that her picture was posted in one of the social networking sites.

Lola Auring and Lolo Luis story on MMK this June 23Thousands were inspired with Lola Auring’s true love for Lolo Luis that a campaign was made to help her. With the help of people who learned about her story and saw how she loves her husband so much, Lola Auring was reunited with her beloved husband. 

Together with Anita and Tony in the “MMK” episode are Lara Quigaman, James Blanco, Ruben Gonzaga, Gilleth Sandico, Mymy Davao, Alfred Labatos, Carla Guevarra, Zeppi Borromeo, Mike Lloren, Tanya Gomez, Encar Benedicto, and Kitkat. It was researched by Alexandra Mae Martin, written by Mark Duane Angos, and directed by Mae Czarina Cruz.

Coco Martin Back to Indie Films via Cinemalaya's Santa Niña

Prince of Indie Coco Martin is back where he started as an actor with an indie film entitled Santa Niña. The movie is one of the competing films in the 2012 Cinemalaya Independent Film Festival happening this July 20-29.

Santa Niña is about a two-year old child who was a victim of the lahar in Bacolor, Pampanga way back in 1995. Ten years later, the child's remains were excavated and people were surprised that the body was still intact and had not gone decomposition. The people believed that the child's body was miraculous and since then, the child's father (Coco Martin) worked for the child's sainthood.

Coco Martin will be joined by award-winning and veteran actors in Santa Niña including Alessandra De Rossi , Angel Aquino, Irma Adlawan, Leo Martinez, Nanding Josef, Lui Manansala and Ms. Anita Linda.

Santa Niña is directed by Emmanuel 'Manny' Palo.

Meanwhile, Coco Martin's movie with Angeline Quinto was a success, grossing P29.7 million in just 5 days. He is currently busy with his top-rated series, Walang Hanggan which is reported to be returning with a 'Book 2.'
